Debate/Speech Tournement!

well! im back! the Topeka qualifying speech and debate tournament was a supper awesome, stressful, fun, emotionally draining, exciting, tirering, amazing tournament! i'll post a few pictures, some debate humor, and the break down of my tourney, and of course the end results!

Break down! like i posted earlier, my dad made us drive down on Tuesday afternoon. so wednesday was quite boring. :\ we had nothing to do, didnt have to check in untill like 5, and we had to check OUT of our hotell at 11. so we meandered around town, hit some thrift stores, and ended up at the library! (i spent a great deal of gathering information from ralph moody concerning the Somersault trick, of flipping off your horse!) ok so anyway! yeah that was all boring! but wednesday night we got to our guest housing! thankfully! so thankfully at a good friends (Dakota H) i was able to get in time for the last part of milking, and then feeding all the baby goats! while we were petting all the baby goats i started to notice white things flying across the barn.............. SNOW BALLS!!!!!!!!! heading strait towards me!!!! --yeiks--- that turned into a totally wicked awesome snow ball fight! - a special big thanks to Waytte for supplying Dakota, and I with snow balls so that we could fight back! :)

Thursday bright and early debate, and speeches all day long! it was a lot of fun! i enjoyed it so much! but the real fun started when we got back to Dakotas! a game of chess!!!!!!!! Dakota and i were quite poor players! we both had our legal counselors! lol Dakota & Shane against Waytte and my self! actually. i received a lot of help from Shane to! :) the chess game brought on great fits of laughter, as we were making dumb moves, copycatting eachother, and held staring contests! (shane you get better at not laughing during a stare down, and i'll get better at chess!) im sure we irritated cody to since he was studying! and we were quite noisy! lol :)

the debate humor is simply this. at the end of a debate tourney everyone is so tired, that a group of kids will come out of a debate round and stare at funny/cute little kids pictures on the wall and comment/laugh over it for 15 minutes!!! --sigh-- is that sad or what?

RESULTS! every round was so much fun! and there was tons of great competitors. i learned SOOO much! but here are my results! i made it to the semifinal round of debate! (which was narrowed down to 4 people) and overall i got 3rd place LD Debater! it was quite an amazing experience! i also received awards for semifinalist apologetic speaker, 4th place with my persuasive on the 2nd amendment, and 7th place overall speaker (in debate) so yep! i cant wait until regionals!!!!

now heres some pictures!

Awards!!!

Card Games! always a part of debate tournements! Kemps. just learned it! (you are almost always gaurenteed to learn a new card game at tounreys. in fact! i learned 2!!)

speaking. (sorry yall! our camera was taking really fuzzy pictures)

this was my welcome home reception!!!!!!! imagine as i walk into my house like a dead zombie, after being gone for 4 days, and im greeted by my bros, my dad, my wonderful horsey, my dog Dix, and my bunny!!!!! it TOTALLY made my WHOLE day! walking into my house and seeing my horse was WAY better than recieving any metal/award! (btw look at sapphires face!!! it looks like she's smiling!!! she was just SOOO happy to see me! and I her! ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥)

Third Annual Under the Dome Qualifier

hey yall! yep this is where im heading! my first qualifying speech/debate tourney!!! I originally wasnt supposed to leave untill tomorrow afternoon (wednesday) but here in NE were supposed to get a ton of sleeting ice. so my dad told us to drive up to Topeka (KS) today (tuesday) im competing in 4 speech categories and LD debate (persuasive, original oratory, Apologetics, & Impromptue) so after i get back (the tourney goes from Wednesday through Saturday) i'll post pictures and all that good stuff! im supper excited and also nervous! im still working on polishing up the memorization of my persuasive!! yeiks! ok! so i got to run! theres still a million things to do here before we leave! ttyl!

~koda~ (}-~-{)

oh! BTW! just to let my dear friends know, so you shant have to worry about me! there is little danger of me slipping into one of my "cowgirl depressions" while i am in the city. because a good friend (Dakota H) has invited my mom and i to stay with her family at her farm! so the chances are GREATLY reduced! -slim-to-none- almost! aint that great! it is just SOOO hard for my to be "locked" up in the city for 3-4 days strait! that as some of you know. a cowgirl depression can be quite dangerous to my health. so yep! ttyl
