Ministry

I thought about the subject a lot while I was stick the past 2 weeks. Its been the core of how Jesus has been working in my heart recently. Today in my Bible reading I came across a verse.

"But watch thou in all things, endure afflictions,

do the work of an evangelist,

make full proof of thy ministry."

2Timothy 4:5

Questions started echoing in my mind.

~Whats my ministry?

~ Where is my ministry?

To whom am I ministering?

Where should I be?

God do you want me to go on a missions trip?

as I sat and pondered some things- I started to recall a conversation that I had with my dad quite awhile ago. The words of a book I recently read drifted into my thoughts. Parts of a verse formed in my mind. All answeres to my own questions.

my Daddy has so much insight and wisdome! a few months ago, I was sitting in the dinning room talking with my dad about this very subject. (more correctly my dad was guiding me and giving me counsel!) but I still recall the message of his words. His wisdome brought me to realize

ministry is right here!

I want to go on a missions trip, I want to go be apart of a ranch in OR. that ministers to hurting kids... nothing wrong with that... maybe someday I will get the chance to! but my dad pointed out to me - that there are hurting kids right here in small town NE! sure im in the cornfeilds... but Ministering is having a personal relationship with the individual! even though its all great... but I really dont have to go across the world/country to reach out to kids and people. the fact is they are right here- I know them, I know that they are hurting, struggling. and I know that they need Jesus.

the answer to my question about "what IS my ministry?" -

my ministry is Luke 4:18.

my ministry is to stand up and fight for the cause of Christ

my ministry is to bring hope to those that have none

to encourage those that are falling

to share the gosple

to light MY world

I hardly ever have the radio turned on. If music is playing It’s usually a CD, or songs that we have on the computer. For some reason I walked by the radio in the kitchen and clicked on K-love Christian radio, and went to sit down at the computer desk. I started to sort through some pictures and work on an birthday invitation for my grandma when a song came on that I hadn’t ever heard before. I leaned back in the chair to pay more attention to the lyrics. As I listened God softly pushed on my heart. I felt convicted and challenged by the words to this song. So I want to share them with you.

I just can’t explain how God used that song to once again show me how important it is to be sharing the gospel everywhere I go. Do I make a difference every time I stand in line? I just hope it encourages you to make a difference to. We never know the life story of the lady checking us out at the grocery store, so the teenage girl handing us our sack in the drive through. But it it takes 15 times for them to hear about Jesus I pray that you and I would be one of the ones to hand them a track, or stop and share Jesus. What if we are that fifteenth person?? And what if we didn’t bother to share our faith with them??? Is theyre blood going to be on our hands like it says in Ezekiel 33?

When I say unto the wicked, O wicked man, thou shalt surely die;
if thou dost not speak to warn the wicked from his way,
that wicked man shall die in his iniquity;

My heart is so moved. As I set the table and finished preparing supper my brothers had an episode of Oddesey playing. While I was going in and out of the dining room, I caught a few glitches of the story. It was about Connie and Eugene going in the imagine nation station back to the story of Jesus. At the very end 2 statements were made during the story that brought tears to my eyes.

The first statement was made by one of the wise men as they seen baby Jesus he said “is this the one brings hope to the whole world” just imagine! JESUS Christ! Even as a little new born baby—brought hope to the world… He IS the hope of the world!! I am so humbled. I just can’t find words to describe how grateful I am that Jesus has given me hope. Without Him I would be nothing.

The ending statement was simply this “we have a reason to live, that’s worth dying for” wow! The end times have been on my mind often. And honestly sometimes it scares me! Will I be able to stand for Christ like the brave ones who have done so before? Even at the cost of life? But “we have a reason to live, that’s worth dying for” Jesus Christ is so fulfilling! He is everything we need! He is on the throne! Im so thankful that I can completely trust in Him! I am completly overwhelmed with how amazing God is, and how undeserving I am of the hope, love, mercy, grace, and forgiveness that is so freely given me!

Whew. Well I just had to jot that down! My heart is so full! And I have a very limited about of words to try to describe that! Thank You Jesus!

Snow Days

Harvest

There are so many things that come to my mind when I think of harvest. I picture eating supper on a tailgait, climbing into some good quality John Deere equpiment spending hours with my dad. collecting tickets at the grain elavator (along with hot coco, and suckers) roling the tarps on and off of the grain trucks each time we made a trip to the elavator. those are just a few of the reasons why harvest is my favorite time of year! I love every bit of it!

obviously we are smack dab in the middle of my favorite season! combines are driving back and forth across feilds all day long. trucks and semi's make trips to and from the grain bins, the grain cart keeps the combine empty, and the other trucks scootin along! I tell ya, farmers dont dink around when the crops are ready... now im confronted with the question.... why do we??? are we not called by Jesus Christ to be farmers? we are told that the fields are ready to be harvested, why is that not taken seirously? once the beans, and corn are ready; farmers dont just sit around and wait another 3 months before they finally decide to go start doing something about it! we need to be ready to gather in the crop as soon as its ready. crops dont stay ripe forever. theres a window of oppertunity that opens..... then closes.

are we taking seirously the fact that people need the Lord? the crops are ready to be brought in, but nobody wants to do the work. we need to stand up and be the labourers that God needs!

Luke 10:2 Therefore said he unto them, The harvest truly is great, but the labourers are few: pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he would send forth labourers into his harvest.

John 4:35 Say not ye, There are yet four months, and then cometh harvest? behold, I say unto you, Lift up your eyes, and look on the fields; for they are white already to harvest.

Revelation 14:15 And another angel came out of the temple, crying with a loud voice to him that sat on the cloud, Thrust in thy sickle, and reap: for the time is come for thee to reap; for the harvest of the earth is ripe.

Psalms 126:5-6 They that sow in tears shall reap in joy. He that goeth forth and weepeth, bearing precious seed, shall doubtless come again with rejoicing, bringing his sheaves with him.

Ga 6:7-9 Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap. For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting.
And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.

Do you ever become weary in well doing? I do. infact - I am. sometimes it just feels like all that i ever try to do, falls short. its never good enough! haha i guess that sounds pretty lame hu? Im not on the look out for a pity party. I guess i just feel compelled to share my struggles. im sitting in front of the computer desk with Gods word on my lap. As I flip through the pages i just feel completly refreshed. Im not gonna lie. When we (or at least when I) get discouraged, it is so easy to just mope around and be consumed in that. Oftentimes I feel my self being pulled into that state. But as I thumb through the highlighted, underlined, cross refrenced, well used pages of my bible I am encouraged by the Lord! how wonderful that is; isnt it!!!?? Galatians 6:9 demands my eye to go over it again and again.

"And let us not be weary in well doing" for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not"

what a beautiful promise! Lord please help me not to faint!!! I also flip over to

a couple weeks ago (yeah so far back already!! im so behind!) I was in Colorado for a week at IPS enjoying an intense photography course! (as many of you know!) it was an incredible week, and i learned SOOOOO much! I am very thankful for the oppertunity that i had to attend!

welcome to the random life of KODA

Gideon (our new horse) is absoutly wonderful! Brandon is doing a fantastic job training him. with in 5 days of having him I jumped on and rode him. He is doing very well with ground work accepting the saddle, and tarps, and he absoutly adores people!

also a friend mentioned that I should tell yall about how the gal is doing, that got hurt in the rodeo. She is ok, I know she was able to go home that night. so praise the Lord!

The Lord has shown me, that his protection is never ending! when something "should have" been so fatal God is so good! I cant even express my thankfullness for Gods protecting hand!

I have also been dwelling on the verse "We are troubled on every side, yet not distressed; we are perplexed, but not in despair, persecuted but not forsaken, cast down, but not destroyed" (2 Corinthians 4:8-9) my thoughts are constantly returning to those comforting words! how thankful I am that the Lord put them in the bible for me! and I am incredibly thankful for the Hope that we have in Jesus Christ! PTL

so for now thats all I have! Im leaving for colorado to enjoy a week full of intense photography learning, and picture taking!!! also... supper dupper excited to meet Jess!!!

Straight To Hell

Those Words have been on my mind so much; "Straight To Hell". When I lay down to sleep each night they ring in my thoughts, As I pray they bounce back and forth in my mind. So many people are heading STRAIGHT TO HELL. It's so bothersom, because its people that I know. I dare say each one of us wouldnt have to think more than a few seconds - to spit out 10 of our friends/relatives that we KNOW are going to Hell when they die. The worst thing; is that it doesnt bother us! it doesnt make us weep, and we dont go out of our way to try to pull them out of the fire. It aggravates me that I dont do enough.

Last weekend we had a rodeo, and during one of the events a young gal that I knew got bucked off her horse and trampled. I stood by the edge of the arena shocked. I watched a bunch of dads huddle over her, and I was so sickened at my self that I hadnt told her about heaven and Hell, or the fact that Jesus Christ is our ONLY hope. The question "what if she dies" kept bouncing through my head and made me just want to cry my eyes out. minutes later I watched the EMT's load her up and pull out. So I prayed, not only that she would be ok, but that I, and we as Christians would be roused to pull people out of the Fire.

People in this world have 1 shot at life. Hebrews 11:27 And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment: How is it that we are so comfortable with this life, that we dont go out and try to win sould like Jesus is comin tomorrow? I dont think we even PRAY enough, because I know that I dont :( We shouldnt be ashamed because we have the power of God. -- but we have not, because we ask not. so I just pray that we ... that I... would be so charged to not give up, and to share the gosple to those dear to us. I dont want to have to watch people that I know and love be cast into hell because I didnt tell them. God help me.

NEW HORSE!

yeah I know right? totally crazy! yall are probably thinkin "dont the Pehrson's have enough?" lol but yes we have added one more to the herd! as of yet.... he doesn't have a name. but here is the scoop. Over last fall I would drive by the neighbors house everyday and see this guy in a pen. (of course I would always slow down so I could get good close looks) and whenever Brandon and I seen the neighbor gal at quiz bowl, and 4-H stuff we asked and asked if they wanted to get ride of him. but she kept telling us that he was this horrible monster, and they couldn't work with him, and on and on. then I guess he got shifted to another neighbor who worked with him for a while, but he's also training a couple other horses so he didn't have enough time to train this bubba too.... so a hop, skip, and a few days later he's at our place. :D He was still a stud... but that changed this morning. and he's settling in quite well. (btw He is in no case a monster like the gal was telling us... he is really very sweet!!! we all adore him already!!) so now im done rambling... take a look at some picts! also if you have any ideas for a name!! let us know!!

SOoo.... here I am :D finding a tiny bit of sit down time! but i cant quite decide what to post about! VBS, Missions Confrence, Mommas Birthday (today), my amazing friends, Idk. but i guess i will just say that right now - God is so incredible! so often (every day) I fall short, I mess up, make a mistake, I fail. But everytime I fall, very gently my savior picks me up and leads me on. how thankful I am that God never quits his work in us. The past couple weeks I have just been so humbled. Each time I cry to Jesus, He wraps his arms around me, and im so undeserving. I am really SOOO thankful that the Lord does not give us what we deserve! His mercy, and Grace just confounds me!

"Forasmuch as there is none like unto thee, O LORD; thou art great, and thy name is great in might."

thats pretty much all I have to say at the moment! (I'll try to be better at blogging!)

hey everybody! sorry for my disappearance from blog land here! i just got way to overwhelmed and buried in life to get on, and some setting was messed up on our internet that wasnt letting me post. so... here i am finally! anyway not much (and yet at the same time.... TONS of things) have been going on! its crazy. but even though it was a couple weeks ago i still wanted to do this blog post. it was such an amazing week! and i love looking back through all the pictures, pulling out the memories, and recalling how Awesome God is.

a couple weeks ago I had the opportunity to help at a ranch for the week. many of you probably know about it. but I'll lightly recap, and then let you experience it through some pictures! the week i was there, they were having day camps for kids. it was absolutely incredible how the Holy Spirit moved, worked and directed the whole week! from the activities each day, to the partnerships, conversations, and relationships between the volunteers and the kids. Praise the Lord for his faithfulness!!

I read this and it really encouraged me! I guess it was supposedly written by an African Christian, before he was martyered for the faith. I pray that as Christian- we would truely live like this. forget a life of ease, fitting in, comfort, and worldly pleasures! God is so worth everything that we have! He's worth living for, He's worth dieing for!!!

RODEO!!!!

Rodeo day!!!! it was such an AMAZING day! praise the Lord for no rain so we could do it in the out door arena!!! the horses did fantastic!! im so thankful that Kelsi, Mel, Timo, Abby and theyre cousin Alexis came to watch! also, Cowgirl, Sapphire, and Gizmo were very grateful to kelsi, for picking us up some fly spray!!!!! what in the world would i do with out the martins???????? i have no clue lol! :D

also..... i am EXTREMELY thankful to Melanie Martin for taking some wonderfully AMAZING pictures for me!!! she did a fantastic job!!! thank you melmo!!!!! (yall can check out her blog -- Mels Imagine Nation-- )

so this is kinda where i guess it got intresting. we were working on turning tight, in prep for barrels on Sat... and sapphire turned a little TOO tight, and the dirt was a little to deep, and loose. and sapphires front end ended up going into the dirt. i couldnt believe brandon actually got this pict. her head and chest ended up in the dirt... (which you dont see here) but thankfully, and totally PRAISE THE LORD... sapphire and I are ok!!

Gods Love

Proverbs 10:12 ¶ Hatred stirreth up strifes: but love covereth all sins.

We read over this verse in our family bible reading time the other day, and 2 things about this verse stuck out to me.

1 Is the fact that in our life... in our relationships, we should not dwell on peoples faults, but that we should let Love cover a multitude of sins. Its an action that we have to take. It can be so easy to pick out our friends' faults, and a sin of all people... is gossip of course. And what does gossip do? It tares apart the downside of someone. But ya know, we should never focus on that! Because God asks us to love, because he first loved us....... which brought me to my second thought

2 why do we/should we let love cover peoples sins? …. because Jesus did it for us! And this is the part I love the most.... man I just cant get over it! The Lord looked down on us, and he knows that we are simply filled with sin. But Jesus loves us so much! He came and died for us! I know that to many of us this is not a new fact. But I still cant comprehend! Im just amazed by his love! And so ya know... when we accept Christs love- when we accept his gift of salvation, his love covers ALL of our sins! well a hop skip and a week or 2 ago. I literally had the time of my life! it was such an awesome, amazing fun filled day! all the lady's in our church had planed on a ladies feminine tea party! complete with movie night, dress up in formal dresses, photo shoots, and then tea and activities back at the church. (plus one big HUGE surprise) so here's some pictures! (i'll leave you hanging about the surprise! ;)

(if ya dont know already) i bought a new horse last week! she is a registered 4 yr old Quarter Horse, and her name is Star Blazin Cowgirl. (cowgirl for short) She was completely un-broke. but in a week already she is coming along GREAT in her training! its really fun and refreshing to be training another horse!

this last week i found my self in Washington Iowa back at the most amazing and powerful youth conference that i have ever been to. "OUR TIME" ya know. it was amazing, and i could post pictures of some of the fun things. but thats not whats in my heart. i want to tell you about the amazing work that God did in my life.

i dont even know where to begin. and i dont feel like i have or know that words that would describe, or paint the faintest picture of Gods prodigious works. He challenged me to remember and KEEP the charge that I as a Christian have been given. the Charge to hold high standards, the charge to protect and stand up for the truth. the charge to do my part in pulling people out of the fire.

God spoke so much.... convicted and challenged my heart. i could talk about each message for hours. but to sum it up.... God set my heart on fire. I am not here to serve my self... i want to burn and burn and burn for Jesus Christ!!! and i pray that nothing i do will pour water on that fire. who cares what people think about us! sure this world may think that us crazy bible thumpers aint worth a hoot... but God cares. God is TOTALLY worth living for! He thought we were to die for! why cant we stand up for Him? ya know... if we care more about what this world thinks... thank what God thinks.... if we would rather be friends with this world... then SHAME. i want everything i do to be for God!

carrying the Cross of Christ... the cross of commitment is heavy, but we cant just lay it down! Jesus carried it for us! but we have to be totally commited to serving Christ. we need to NEVER let the Sword... the word of God drop from our hands. God wants us to use us... but if were sitting in the dirty dish water of the world... he wont.

I Challenge you.

dont sit on a bench and live your life! goodness sakes jump up with me, and lets do something for Christ. doesnt have to be something BIG. but God says that if were faithful over very little... he will make us will make us ruler over 10 cities! (Luke 19:17) I want to get to heaven and throw crowns, and jewels, and precious stones down at my Saviors feet.... not wood hay and stubble, or ashes.

dont be afraid to speak the name of Jesus. to some its a cuss word, but to US!!! its the POWER OF GOD!!!!!!!! we have been given SOOOO much! and how much are we doing for God? there's individuals in Africa that have absolutely NOTHING and yet they are doing stuff for God. we need to set aside some of the things that pull us away from Christ and just follow him!!

my first turkey hunt. March/April 2007

beep.. beep...beep the alarm screamed. tanner came into my bedroom and shook my shoulders. "get up! GET UP!!" slowly I pulled the world into focus. ... what the heck was i doing at 4:30 AM??? oh yeah ...my first turkey hunt!!! I jumped out of bed and was hit with a steely force of cold air. burr!!! I threw on several layers of clothes and bounded down the stairs in 3 steps. now wide awake we start getting ready. a check list ran through my mind that was as long as if I was getting ready to go to a horse show! sweatshirts, wool socks, mugs of coffee, and hot coco, hats, hand warmers, coveralls, shot guns, decoys, calls, permits, we load it all into the old red suburban and cranked’er up. a few nights earlier we seen some turkeys roosting in a grove of trees, so we drive to that area, park the suburban about a 1/2 mile away. loaded down with all sorts of "gear" we walk into the grassy meadow. It was still completely dark but as best as could be done we set up an arrangement of decoys and walked 20 yards off to a few trees. Tanner went and sat about 5-10 yds away from me and I seated my self and tried to get as comfortable as I could sitting at the base of a tree. wide awake I started into the lessening darkness. ever so slowly light seeped into the world. and that is when it got interesting. since we walked in when it was completely dark I had no clue as to what my surroundings looked like. As I started to make out faint outlines of the landscape my mind quickly assessed my position. there was a little ridge about 5 feet in front of me. And something was moving… im positive something was crawling in front of me… stark fear grabbed me… I held my breath and watched… I was sure I had seen the back of a mountain lion pass through the grass… the wind rustled the tall brush, and sent chills down my back. My mind started imagining all sorts of crazy wild things. But I calmed my self down, and told myself to rationalize the situation.. It was just my imagination right???……..I hope!
“deep breaths Lakota” I kept reminding myself! I shifted my thinking towards the big tom I was hoping to get. As it got lighter I was able to make out 3 turkeys not far away! I was so excited! But a minute later embarrassment bombarded my excitement… those were our decoys. Man how stupid can I get? I made a mental note NOT to tell tanner about my “embarrassing moment” he would be sure to laugh his head off. And well… I definitely didn’t want to be the laughing stock for the next week!

Higher and higher the son rose into the beautiful crisp morning. And no sign of any turkeys. Finally tanner got up and it was time to pack up and head out. I was quite disappointed that I didn’t return with a long beard, spurs and fan of a big ol tom. But it had been… very interesting to say in the least! So definitely worth it in the end.

And that is the story of my very first turkey hunt.

today im going out turkey hunting again with Brandon and Taylor. really hope i get one! (2 days ago i about hit several of them with the truck and trailer!!! lol)

Mountain Lion Close To Home

Several Days ago, Brandon and I took our horses out on a ride. we took a different route than normal, and after about 3 miles we decided to turn off the road and go through a field. we followed a creek, and tree line about half a mile or so off the road. and we came to a corner where 2 tree lines met. i seen something strange up in a tree so i road my horse closer to get a look. what i seen shocked me. it was a deer carcas that had been drug up into the tree and eaten. as my gaze droped... i seen many more carcases riped up and strewn around. along with shreaded deer hides, and other small animals. It was extreemly creepy. Brandon and I got the shivers and the goose bumps at the same time so we decided to pick up a canter and just get out of there. When we got back, my dad confirmed our conclusions. it was definitly where a mountain lion feasted. F.R.E.A.K.Y!!!!!!!!!!!! well... i decided i needed to get some pictures of the crime scene so we saddle up early in the morning and road down there again. this time on the way down there i found something else. cat terds. yep. so anyway i started getting pictures of everything. (i had my long lens on so i didnt have to get off sapphy.. but brandon got of grace and took the camera up a little ridge to get some other pictures. so im sitting on sapphire holding graces reins watching brandon... when all the sudden the horses jerk their heads up and look behind me. my stomach knotted up and i whiped my head around in time to catch a glimps of a mountain lion disapearing into some bushes. needless to say i started screeming at brandon, threw the reins to him and we high tailed it outta there. didnt even rein the horses in untill we were about 2 miles away! WOW. so thats the newest news around the pehrson place. heres some of the pictures that i got. oh one more thing i forgot to add. so ya seen the 2 keep out signs? well there were several others all over there. but theres a frequently used pickup trail back to the area. and did i mention that theres speratic trail camera boxes? yeah so our conclusion is that the game and parks is probably protecting them out there. :/ (because a couple of the signs had game and parks symbols on them) the game and parks probably picks up hit deer and stuff and dumps them out there. idk. but yeah :s kinda spooky! cant wait till i can open carry legally! just a few more days!!

Barrel Racing Through Life

A couple weeks ago I was down at an arena practicing barrel racing with my pony sapphire. we went through our normal warm up, then set up the pattern and started to walk the pattern. we walked it a few times, and then trotted the pattern several times. finally i felt like sapphire was ready to bump up to a good lope which turned into a hand gallop because she just wanted to go faster, and faster. she started our pretty good. correct lead for the left barrel, slid into the turn, switched into the left lead for the second barrel she was a little ahead of my cues but not to much. we headed for the last barrel and as we got closer and closer I felt like I had last sapphires mind. she seemed to say "i'll take over from here" and with that she turned into the barrel WAY to soon... smashing my leg into the hard cornered rim of the barrel. OUCH i had coveralls on and it STILL totally skinned my leg. what in the world? why did my baby girl do that? after i recovered from my throbingly painful leg.. i turned her around to try it again. 2 more times sapphire did the same thing. stop listening to my cues around the last barrel because she was so excited to run home. she kept smashing my right leg into the barrel. .. beyond painful! let me tell ya! finally after a LOTS of correction we were able to make a nice little run with OUT smashing my leg. but let me tell ya. i was quite frustrated. as i loaded the horses up into the trailer i was fuming. what had been wrong with sapphire? why did she do that? (the pain in my leg was a constant reminder!) but as i drove home God shifted my thinking into a spiritual sense.

we as humans do exactly what sapphire did. we start out going through life fine and dandy. but as we near home we say "I'll take over from here". we can get so excited about making that last turn that we stop listining to the Lord and his direction. Which only causes pain for the Lord. It hurts Him when we stop listining to his guidence. Just like it hurt me when sapphire stoped listening.

Just like running around barrels is a race... Paul tells us that running through Life is a race. and we must run for the prize. but we cant do it with out the Lord. no matter where we are in our race, we need to be listening to his voice... the guidence that he gives us. it will save us a lot of chastisment.. and the Lord a lot of pain.

so there you have it... thoughts from a cowgirl! (this post was especially to please Bekah ;) but i hope you all enjoyed it... and i pray you let the Lord guide and direct you through the race of life.

Our Trip To Ohio!

last week we went on a WONDERFUL little family vacation to cincinniti Ohio! we had a lot of fun along the way and enjoyed it so much! so i'll show you the highlights through some pictures!

first thing- I got to meet a pen pal of mine from Iown- Abby!! it was so much fun!

next we went to the Creation Museum in Kentucky!! it was sooo neat! one of the greatest things was.. that GOD was recogionized through the WHOLE museum! and the gosple was given several times! it was so neat!

Thursday was i guess the huge begining day of the cincinniti reds baseball team. there was BILLIONS of people going! so we went and checked out the statium! it was pretty cool!

so we got to see Tim Hawlkins preform! it was so.... HAILARIOUS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

and we also got to see the douger family! that was really neat to!

Others May - You Cannot

If God has called you to be really like Jesus, He will draw you to a life of crucifixion and humility, and put upon you such demands of obedience, that you will not be able to follor other people, or measure yourself by other Christians, and in many ways He will seem to let other good people do things which He will not let you do.

Other Christians and ministers who seem very religious and useful may push themselves, pull wires, and work schemes to carry out their plans, but you cannot do it; and if you attemt it, you will meet with such failure and rebuke from the Lord as to make you sorely penitent.

Others may boast of themselves, of their work, of their success, of their writings, but the Holy Spirit will not allow you to do any such thing, and if you begin it, He will lead you into some deep mortification that will make you despise yourself and all your good works.

Others may be allowed to succeed in making money or may have a legacy left to them, but it is likely God will keep you poor, beccause He wants you to have something far better than gold, namely a helpless dependence on Him, that He may have the privilege of supplying your needs day by day out of an unseen treasury.

The Lord may let others be honored and put foward, and keep you hidden in obscurity, because He wants you to produce some choice, fragrant fruit for His coming glory, which can only be produced in the shade. He may let others be great, but keep you small. He may let others do a work for Him and get the credit of it, but He will make you work and toil on without knowing how much you are doing; and then to make your work still more precious, he may let others get the credit for the work wich you have done, and thus make your reward tem times greater when Jesus comes.

The Holy Spirit will put a strict watch over you, with a jealous love, and will rebuke you for little words and feelings, or for wasting your time, wich other Christians never seem distressed over. So make up your mind that God is a infinite sovereign, and has a right to do as He pleases with His own.

He may not explain to you a thousand things which puzzle your reason in His dealings with you. But if you absolutly sell hourself to be His...slave, He will wrap you up in a jealous love, and bestow upon you many blessings which come only to those who are in the inner circle.

Settle it forever, then, that you are to deal directly with the Holy Spirit, and that He is to have the privilege of tying you tongue, or chaining your hand, or closing your eyes, in ways that He does not seem to use with others. Now when you are so possessed with the living God that you are, in your sevret heart, pleased and delighted over this peculiar, personal, private, jealous guardianship and managemenm of the Holy Spirit over your life, you will have found the vestibule of Heaven.

yesterday the gals from our church went on a shopping day to look for dresses for an up comming (fancy) ladies tea!! you might think that we hit the Mall, and all those stores. but nope! we hit Thrift stores! it was awesome! we all got foraml dresses (some of them need to be made a little more modest) but.. the most that one of us paid for our dress ... was 10 bucks!!!! it was so cool! so heres a few pictures... after the tea there will be pictures of us all in dresses! .. enjoy these for now!

Graduated!!!

wow! so most yall know that i had my graduation serimony this past Saturday!!! (the 5th) wow it was SOOO amazing!! and i am sooo blessed with every one that was able to come! (and those who wernt able, but wanted to!!) it was such an amazing day! tanner was able to come back friday night... in time to help set up, and decorate! and saturday at 2 i had my senior recital! i was SOO nervous about that! id rather give a 30 speeches! but it turned out really well and i was soo thankful to be able to use the tallents that the Lord has given me to Glorify him, and honor his name even in a piano recital! and then at 5 we started my "show" it was a wonderful time! we did the seremony, my dad talked, i gave a speech (impromptue! lol) the martins sang, my parents gave me my diploma and it was wonderful! so much fun, and totally awesome! :D God is so good to have brought me through High School, and to continue leading me into the future!

just real quick i have a few minutes to post some pictures! life is still crazy... doing all the cooking for my graduation... decorations... piano practicing.... planing.... speech writting... and the list goes on! but the other day had some good times with the best people in the world... the marts :D we (well they) went ice skating Friday night... i couldnt skate... cuz of my stupid foot :'( but oh well i made the best of it by taking billions of pictures!

ok so i just have to say something real quick. i guess right now a lot of werstlining is going on right now? idk if its all state matches or what (i dont keep up) but anyway iv heard several storys about guys standing up and saying NO when they were paired up against a girl. even one dude who coulda won the state finals. you know what. good for them. those boys are getting a lot of ridicule for not wrestling them... but they shouldnt. the ones who have said no.... are doing whats right. and ya know what else.

a girl shouldnt even enter.

shouldnt even be ABLE to enter. ... unless its a seperete girls class. it is just not right for a guy to touch, and take down a girl in the way that wrestlers do.

ugh so that just kinda got my kettle steaming right now. thought yall might care to know what i think! lol

Piano and Barrel Racing

would you believe me if i told you that learning a really hard/fast song on the piano... is exactly like training a horse for barrel racing? yeah i know... crazy hu?? but REALLY!!! this makes so much sence to me!

so im learning this really difficult song on the piano... a TON of notes, supposed to be really fast... very challenging. but this is where its so neat! before you can play a difficult speedy song like that you have to learn the notes first. (the fundementals) you have to teach your fingers where to go.. and most importantly before you play really fast.... it has to be smooth.

well teaching my horse (or any horse) to barrel race. you have to work on fundamentals first. teach them the ground work. show them where their feet should go! and most importantly... get it smooth before speed. you practice slow... slow.. and slow some more... just like learning a song on the piano... once you finally get it down slow, speed comes!! its so cool...

so thats just what i was thinkin about :D

This morning i woke up, and thought "hey! today is saturday! i should have some time to do a blog post!" and i prayed that God would give me something to post about... something from his word, that meant so much to me. so i got up and went to do my devotions. iv been reading through Jeremiah... and i opened to chapter 18. the first 6 verses that i read... answered my prayer! i couldnt believe it! thank you LORD! so here it is... i hope you enjoy

!! pay close attention to this seiries of pictures. !!

Jeremiah 18:1-6 The word which came to Jeremiah from the LORD, saying,

Arise, and go down to the potter's house, and there I will cause thee to hear my words.

Then I went down to the potter's house, and, behold, he wrought a work on the wheels.

And the vessel that he made of clay was marred in the hand of the potter:

so he made it again another vessel, as seemed good to the potter to make it.

Then the word of the LORD came to me, saying,

O house of Israel, cannot I do with you as this potter? saith the LORD.

Behold, as the clay is in the potter's hand,

so are ye in mine hand, O house of Israel.

go look at those pictures again... that first picture? ... that is MY life.. thats YOUR life before we met Christ! really were just a bunch of rubble, crumbles of dirt all scattered and broken up.

the second picture... thats when we allow Christ into our life. he takes us in his hands... and he has a plan.

the third picture? is God at work. he sets our world to spinning, he starts pushin on us... streching, forming, some of Gods forming and molding can test us to the limits, it may hurt... we may feel broken... but God is busy... at this point in the picture... we cant see what the end product is. but God works and works

and the last picture? thats the finished product!

who am I? that God would see my broken crumbled goop mess... and pick me up? who an I... that God would show his tender love in forming and molding me? who am I that God has such a beautiful design for my life? i am humbled by Gods love for me.

he Loves you to! weather you know the Lord already or not. no matter where you are in life... GOD has a plan for you... he want to make you into something beautiful. i pray that we ALL will surrender our Lives to our creator... to our potter.

Isaiah 64:8 But now, O LORD,

I laugh. i used to wish and wish and want a sister so bad. but i have some of the dearest friends...that i feel truely are sisters... and im thankful for them... but i absoutly LOVE my brothers!

my big (little) manly, macho (so they think) tough brothers, often make my heart mealt by randomly giving me big huge hugs...or little winks, and wide grins... always wanting to be my "body guard" and often treating me to a soda/candy bar/ice cream cone :D

they make me Cry

not because im sad....but we laugh so hard...that tears cant help but slip out! i wont even begin to try to describe the things we laugh about...(you would think that we all lost our marbles and were off our rockers)

the make me sing like a fool

um...i wont get into details... but it usually involves putting on concerts for the horses down at the stable. .. some how the center allyway turns into a stage, and our pitch forks turn into microphones...and the horses turn into an amazed audience ;)

I could go on forever and a day about my awesome brothers,... but to the biggest point. I am just sooo thankful that the Lord has blessed me with the most amazing, wonderful brothers in the whole world! :D (enjoy a few picts)

i just want to take a quick minute and post some thoughts about this verse that i read thismorning.

Ephesians 2:12 "that at the time ye were without Christ,

being aliens from the commonwealth of isreal, and

strangers from the covenants of promise,

having no hope, and

without God in the world:

ya know... that is right where this world is today. having no hope, and without God in the world: take a look around you. teenagers in this world... have no hope so what do they run to? drugs, cutting, relationships, and when all of that fails ... sucide. why? because they have NO HOPE. why? because God is not in this world. that just makes me so so sad to see. even in my own extended family i see that happening, Christians. we need to stand up! we have such an oppertunity here to share the HOPE that we have because of Jesus Christ i did a quick word study on hope. and im just amazed! AMAZED by Gods grace, AMAZED by the fact that ONLY because of Jesus Christ we can have hope. its not denyed us, or hiden from us. We can have hope because of Jesus. people in this world need to be pointed to that ray of hope,

this post is in memory of Fooler. some of you may have had the privledge of knowing him, and others maybe not. but he was an incredible horse. let me tell you about him...

he was the horse that taught me how to ride

he was the horse that made me laugh and cry

he was a horse that put his heart into whatever he did

he was the horse that gave me courage to try the impossible

he was the horse that needed a little hug every day

he was the horse that made me into a cowgirl

he was one in a million

he was fooler

I wish everyone in the world could have had the chance to meet him. he was gaurenteed to change your life in some way. somepeople said "oh he's a thourbred he cant barrel race," or "he'll never be able to do a slidding stop" but he did it all. on the trails he enjoyed every minute. at county fair he would change from the perfect pleasure horse to the excited tence muscled gamer. and then into a reining horse. no jump was to high for him, no challenge to big. he truly was amazing.

on January 18th fooler passed on due to colic (displacement i believe) i guess i never believed that he would someday go...so it hit really hard. i thought of all the times i had with him. riding along side Cleo and Gizmo in prades or on trails. learning to jump bareback on him. winning western pleasure, galloping through the feilds, my first expierences barrel racing, it was all Fooler. his little pet peeve was bikers. during the summer tons of bikers go past our house. one morning i didnt get him in from the pasture soon enough and he hoped the fence with sapphire right behind him. somedays he would be the most reliable old gentleman in the world. but he threw in a few silly days every now and then. he was georgous, a true lady lover! i miss him a ton.

Yesterday afternoon I was in Lincoln, and as the weather continually got worse, my dad didn’t want me on the roads so I ended up staying in Lincoln with my grandma. Grandma had decided that she wanted to go to church on Saturday night instead of having to get up this morning and head out. So of course I went with her and God really got a hold of my heart. You see, God really opened my eyes to the Devils deception. On Saturday night I witnessed a baby baptism. And my heart was so burdened. As the minister explained to the family, and church that after the baby was sprinkled with water he was then saved and added to Gods family. “and because the baby cannot answer for himself, the church all professed faith, and rejected sin for him.”

I just wanted to cry, I wanted to stand up on my chair and shout, I wanted to go up to that dear sweet mother and tell her the truth. Unfortunately I was not given the opportunity then and there. But im making the opportunity right now. I just have to put it bluntly. That baby is no more saved now then he was before. sprinkling ¾ of a cup of water on that baby did no more good to save his soul then dunking him in a cow tank would do. Water can not save our souls, doing good works can not earn us an eternal place in heaven. Being a good person, and going to church cant even pay the way. It is ONLY through Jesus Christ ALONE. Jesus says in John 14:6 “I am THE way, THE truth, and THE life. No man cometh unto the Father BUT BY ME. You see there is NO other way. The Bible also says “Neither is there salvation in ANY OTHER: for there is none other name under heaven given among me, whereby we must be saved: (Acts 4:12)

Salvation isn’t complicated. In fact God made it so simple… its us HUMANS that try to make it complicated. Its no 12 step program, its nothing that we have to work for, or be good enough to have. If that were so. There would be NO hope of anyone going to heaven! Who are we kidding? We cant save ourselves anymore than we can be entirely perfect for the rest of our lives. (impossible!) but God can save. He paid the way. “For God so loved the World that he gave his ONLY begotten Son, that WHOSOEVER believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life, For God sent NOT his Son into the world to condemn the world: but that the world THROUGH HIM might be saved.” (John 3:16-17) you see. God knew that we could not save ourselves. We are so hopeless, so sinful. Since God cant even look at sin, (and since sin is our human nature - “For ALL have sinned and come short of the Glory of God Romans 3:23”) there was only ONE option. Someone had to pay the price for sin. Some one perfect, with out ONE single spot of sin. And someone entirely willing. That only someone was Gods own Son. So Jesus came. Grew up and lived a perfect life. And finally went to the cross. And paid the ultimate the price for a debt that we could never pay. Jesus gave his last breath for our lives. He died and went to the grave. But He didn’t stay long. Jesus Christ conquered death, but his resurrection. And its ONLY because and through Him that we can be saved. If there was any other way…. Then Jesus came, lived, and died in VAIN. Jesus offers eternal life to us as a gift. Its not forced upon us, but freely offered. But without accepting Christ gift of salvation that He paid for with his own blood. We are eternally doomed to hell….forEVER. Life doesn’t end when we die…it goes on for all eternity. But what we do with Jesus Christ and his gift right now determines our eternal security. it’s a decision that we have to make. To reject or accept. that’s all there is to it. We don’t have to work our way, climb to the top of the ladder, complete a program, or be a good enough. “for by GRACE are ye saved. THROUGH FAITH: and that not of yourselves: it is the GIFT of GOD. NOT OF WORKS lest any man should boast.

So what are YOU going to do? I pray that each one of you accepts Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior. He is not willing that ANY should perish but the ALL should come to repentance (1Peter 3:9) All we have to do is Believe and Call upon the Lord.

Romans 10:9-10 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

Acts 2:21 And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved.

so the national finals rodeo is going on RIGHT NOW!!!!!!!! iv been keeping up with the postings!! anyway i just thought id tell yall that for the barrel racing. Lindsay Sears and her horse Martha are THE most AMAZING ... E.V.E.R!!!! im like always soooo amazed that i actually got to meet her!!! so im rooting for her ALL the way.

also for tie down. goodness sakes everybody and their dog knows that clint cooper is the bomb! i hope he takes it all! (i also got to see him and his 2 bros preform!)

I am taking an online photography class from Learn to take photos the first class that i am taking is DSLR photography 101, and the first lesson was on taking pictures in apeture priority mode! it was sooo intresting, and helped me out a LOT! so my assignment for that lesson was to take pictures in apeture priority mode, with a certain fstop range, ISO, ev mode, and a few other things and then upload 3 pictures for the assignment! here are the 3 that i used for my assignment!

heres some pictures of the rodeo yesterday! it was the last one of the purina seiries for the year. but i can not wait untill next year!! sapphire did extreemly well at the rodeo! i think we did better on every event except goat tying. poles we got a faster run, the catalog race we placed over all first. barrels i think we got 3rd outa 6. somethin like that! im not sure on all my times but yeah!

1: Pull Up your pants and wear a belt....... You look like an idiot!

2: Turn your cap right, your head ain't crooked and you look like a moron!

3:Let's get this straight: it's called a "dirt road." I drive a pickup truck because I want to. No Matter how slow you drive, you're gonna get dirt on your Lexus. Drive it or get out of the way!

4: They are cattle. That's why they smell like cattle. They smell like money to us. Get over it. Don't like it? I-10 & I-40 go east and west,
I-17 & I-15 go north and south. Pick one and go!

5: So you have a $60,000 car. We're impressed. We have $250,000 Combines that are driven only 3 weeks a year.

6: Every person in the Wild West waves. It's called bein' friendly. Try to understand the concept!

7: If that cell phone rings while a bunch of geese/pheasants/ducks/doves/deer are comin' in during a hunt, we WILL shoot it outta your hand. You better hope you don't have it up to your ear at the time!

8: Yeah. We eat trout, salmon, deer and elk. You really want sushi and caviar? It's available down at the bait shop!

9: The "Opener" refers to the first day of deer season. It's a religious holiday!

10: We open doors for women. That's ALL women regardless of age!

11: No, there's no 'vegetarian special' on the menu. Order steak , or you can order the Chief's Salad and tell us to hold the 2 pounds of ham and turkey!

12:When we fill out a table, there are 3 main dishes: meats, vegetables, and breads. We use 3 spices: salt, pepper,and ketchup! Oh, yeah.... We don't care what you folks in Massachusetts call that stuff you eat.....whatever it looks like, IT AIN'T CHILI!

13: You bring 'Coke' into my house, it better be brown, wet, and served over ice. You bring 'Mary Jane' into my house, she better look good, drive a truck, wear a cowboy hat and know how to shoot!!!!!!

14: Collage and High school football is important as the Giants, the Yankees, the Mets, the Lakers, and the Knicks, and a site more fun!

15:Yeah, we have golf courses. But don't hit the water hazards - it spooks the fish!

16:Be considerate.....turn down that car stereo! That thumpin' ain't music to out ears. We don't want to hear that anymore then we want to see your butt! (See #1 above)

17: There's only ONE good God and He's the one we worship. A TRUE westerner will share this with folks who probably don't get it, but we're friendly so we hope you can begin to understand what "getting a life" is really about!!!!

9 years ago. Theres a lot I can say about that day. I didn’t fully understand at first. I guess I didn’t comprehend it all at once. But I knew it was terribly sad and it frightened me. My grandma was on a plan at the time, and I was scared for her, I was scared for all the people in the twin towers, I was scared of the terrorists that did it. I looked at the tears coming from my moms eyes, and they fell from mine to. Later my fright turned to anger. Anger towards the bad men that would do that to MY country. That caused SOOO many mommy’s and daddy’s to be killed. I thought of my mom and dad and how I would feel if I had gone to school that day. And then found out that my parents were dead. Killed by terrorists who crashed their airplanes into the building where they worked. Theres so many aspects that you could dwell on that would evoke so many different emotions. But I’ll never forget one day sometime after I was working in the kitchen with my mom. The boys were fighting and making tons of noise, and we had the radio on, and this song came on, our household stopped in dead stillness as we listened to the song and cried our eyes out. The song is “where were you” By Alen Jackson. I know it’s a country song. But I still wanted to post it in memory of that day

This song still makes me cry. Lol. Now I want to thank our country. The firefighters, the policeman, the volunteers, the soldiers that responded to the tragedy. And the very people that fight for my freedom today. “freedom isn’t Free” people are paying the price this very minute. On September 11 so many people put their life on the line to help in any way they possibly could. So many people that day sacrificed their own life to save the life of another. John 15:13 Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends. and many did.

heres a quick post! we had our missions confrence this last week! it was sooo good. The Shebs family came up for the 4th time from Lousianna to preach for us. and boy it was good! then sunday we had our faith promise offering! WOW! can the Lord do awesome things? yes he can! our goal was 12 thousand. and guess how much was promised? 22 thousand!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WOW! heres a few picts!

and the themometer says --- we reached our goal 12000 . (but exceeded it by how much????.......)

A Day at L5 Youth Ranch

last week we had an AWESOME time at the L5 Youth Ranch! i gathered a little group of friends together to head to the ranch and do a little clean up day for them! it was so much fun. I difinitly hope to help out there more this summer! Matt and Daisy Langston (the couple that own/run the ranch) are just an amazing couple, and have such a heart for serving the Lord. the ranch is just SOOO TOTALLY WICKEDLY AWESOME!!! you'll have to check out their website. but for now enjoy a few pictures!
